Sara Marreiros

Sep 19

I am in the process of looking through my old artwork. This was a digital painting I created using Painter IX. It was a commissioned cover for Sara Marreiros Portuguese Fado CD and has been published in several local and international magazines. Sara is a very talented singer her music is worth checking out at http://www.members.shaw.ca/lmarreiros/.

Here is the finished watercolour painting of the clown. I just got a new black pen so have been experimenting with various sketch techniques. I quite like the results ^_^

New Sketches

Sep 07

Here are some sketches I have made in the last couple of days. I have been experimenting with varoius styles lately. The first one is an image inspired by Sunao Kuwahara carnival themed collection. The horse is from my head, it has been a long long time since I have drawn horses but it used to be all I drew back when I was a child. The second is another sketch of Nicole.

Butterfly Geisha

Aug 09

I had the wonderful opportunity lately to photograph two models wearing antique kimonos borrowed from my mom as well as a family friend. The results were very beautiful and I have been inspired to practice my photoshop manipulating skills as well as producing paintings of the images. This is a photoshop copulation/digital painting of Nicole.

Alice’s Tea Party

Aug 09

I have been a bit lazy at posting my own artwork but I am finally getting around to it. This was a quick acrylic painting of my favorite storybook character Alice. The canvas is 8×8“. I had a bit of difficulty getting the accuracy right in the face using this media, in such a small space, so I think I will attempt again with watercolours.
