Maide and her Beautiful Spats

Mar 15

Hey everyone, I am finally back and although my blog may not look different I have switched over to WordPress.  Some of the new features include a RSS subscription feed, a new Etsy Widget at the side and an updated comment section.

Things have been super busy for me lately with getting settled in to my new place, familiarizing myself with this area of town and getting up to speed with my new fulltime job at Marquis of London but I am hoping to get back to painting shortly.  Until then I have some exciting news, the very talented Maide has created a beautiful collaged spat using one of my paintings. I am very touched she chose my art as I am such of fan of hers already.  They went up for sale this week so if you want to own one of Maide’s exquisite works of art they can be purchased at DaWanda.

Carnaval 4

Fortune Teller

Aug 24

This is a sketch for my Carnival theme which will eventually be a watercolour. I think the pencil turned out rather nice though so I will probably be developing it into prints and/or cards.

Pencil and White Card Paper 14×17 inches. The dress is a couture Christian Lacroix.

New Sketch and Update

Aug 23

Been working steadily on some new ideas as well as getting some more cards printed. Thank you to Hansel for all your help calibrating the colours. You are the best! Later this week we are off on holidays to explore the coast of England and the following week to Geneva, Switzerland so blog posts may be slow. However, just wanted to post one of my newest sketches which will be a part of my carnival theme. She is wearing a Basso and Brooke dress ^_^

And a closeup of her face.

Eventually I will be painting this sketch in watercolour.

Le Carnaval 4

Jul 06

Another Circus-esque painting. This one was inpired by the Galliano’s Fall 2009 collection. Presently, I am trying to proof images for print which has proven to be taking more time then I originally thought. I did open my Etsy shop this week though and I am hoping in the next couple of weeks to have a selection of high quality prints. I also will be developing a line of art pillows and a few other small items. Check back soon.

Update and New Projects

Jun 20

Hey everyone! I apologise it’s been a long time since I last made a post. Between school, various art projects, out of town guests and a trip to Denmark the blog has taken a sad back seat to my other work. To get back in swing of posting more regularily I will start by sharing a new project. This will be a collection of 4 girls one for every season Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. This is Spring and may be produced into a line of jewelry as well as tshirts and art prints. More details will be posted soon.

Flamenco Acrylic

Feb 18

I saw this picture in a magazine awhile ago which showed a beautiful model in a spanish inspired outfit. Sadly, I don’t have the magazine anymore and was unable to find the original picture again. Being very inspired at the time though i painted it in acrylic for my art class at fashion school. It was one of my first completed acrylics so I am still pretty proud of it.

Le Carnavale 2

Nov 06

I am revisiting this theme this week with my second painting of this style. Been in bed the last few days with the flu but I am finaly on the mends and will be posting more shortly. This is a Sonia Rykiel outfit from her 40th anniversary runway show. Unfortunately the colour doesnt pick up very well with my cheap scanner so I might be tweaking the image later.

Erte was famed for his theatrical costumes and set designs as well as his beautiful fashion design. This was an image I created based off one of works.
