Minimalism might be the spirit of this season but it was the collections that displayed  luscious fabrics, extravagant embellishment and the touches of playful fantasy that caught my eye. The following are a few of my favourite collections this season.

Andrew Gn

It is easy to love Andrew Gn’s collection what with it’s liquid like satins, opulent lace embellishments and Rococo styling. His mostly black and charcoal colours were offset by a few muted tones in reds, yellows and greens but it was his various styles of military jackets that were the show stealer. See whole collection here.

Topshop’s Unique collection should first be applauded for whoever their choice of genius styler was. The array of furry animal hats, antlers and the bushy caveman eyebrows showed a sense of humour while the clothing was skilfully detailed and very wearable. Surely to be a hit with this seasons buyer. See full collection here.

Not generally the biggest fan of Christopher Kane, I was quite taken by his combination of lace, leather and embroidery in this season’s collection.  The bright colours in blues, pinks, yellows and purples were a stark contrast to the black and created almost folkloric, hand-crafted look. See entire collection here.
